LOPPING SHEARS

Lopping shears are designed to maintain all of your green garden and to be able to handle those detailed jobs best left to a good hand tool. They feature a good cutting action and non-stick carbon steel blade. Provides comfort with a good fiberglass handle with cushion grip. LOPPERS

Loppers are used to trim less than accessible branches and feature longer, telescopic reach.

The classic pruning loppers are still the two-arm pruning loppers. Almost all models now feature gear transmission in addition to the special buffers to protect the wrists. The transmission affords very powerful cutting power so that even thicker branches can be achieved with less effort.
For pruning shears are usually smaller and used with only one hand. They will be finer when used for bonsai or indoor gardens compared to those much sturdier and used to cut roses and more demanding growth.

Trimming shears are usually used with both hands and are designed for cutting and shaping hedges.

Lopping tools are for cutting larger branches on a bush or tree that don't require a saw, generally smaller than 2 inches in diameter.

RAKES

A sturdy rake is useful in clearing the garden of rocks and debris. It is also helpful in spreading mulches and smoothing seedbeds. The size of the rake right for you depends on your size and strength and your intended need for it. Choose according to weight as you will tire easily otherwise. Length should be well considered with the tip of the handle coming up to your ear when standing upright. A handle that is too short will make your work harder, causing excess bending and back strain.

Variety of good features include:

Landscape Rake, manual powered. It is light-weight and wide which makes it easier for spreading of topsoil for landscape grading.

York Rake, tow behind. A heavy-duty, steel tined rake, which attaches to a lawn or garden tractor for removing small rocks and stones, and finish grading of freshly landscaped areas.
